This is the metallic base of a 20g pinfire shotshell with an early Eley Brothers headstamp. Eley began making pinfire shotshells by at least 1859.


This recently listed collection of excavated cartridges came from a digger who primarily dug in Virginia. He did not record exact cities or locations of where he dug his cartridges.
