Description
This 12mm Pinfire was made by the Belgian firm of Auguste Francotte. This gun feels a little bigger than some and it really feels nice in your hand and is well balanced. It’s condition is OK though there are definitely signs of wear and use. It is mechanically sound and functions well. The gun indexes and fires in double-action. Single-action does not hold a cock though I am not sure it is supposed to. Many early ones were double-action-only. This gun dates to the late 1860s and one notable and unique feature is the inscription of an Argentine Gun-dealer on the top of the barrel. That inscription is: “Bertonnet en Buenos Ayres”.
