Description
This is a complete box of 12mm Lefaucheux pinfire revolver cartridges manufactured by Charles Fusnot of Brussels, Belgium. The label reads: “Fabrique de Balles et Cartouches – Cartouches Lefaucheux de 12 millimètres”, and the cartridges inside remain in good condition.
Boxes of this specific type have been documented at American Civil War encampments, making it an excellent companion piece for a Model 1854 Lefaucheux revolver display. The box itself is structurally intact with a clearly legible label, though fine red sawdust—a known packing material used by some Belgian makers—has lightly stained the surface and continues to leak slightly from the corners. This detail adds both authenticity and insight into early pinfire packaging methods.
